Federal Assistance

Federal Pell Grant

  • Must complete the FAFSA each year

  • For Undergraduates who do not have a bachelor's degree

  • Based on Financial Need

  • Maximum of $7,395.00 for the 2023-2024 school year

Federal Stafford Direct Loan

Subsizided

  • Must complete the FAFSA each year

  • A first year student may borrow a maximum of $3,500.00

  • All loans must be repaid

Unsubsidized

  • Must follow the same criteria as Federal Pell Grant

  • An Independent student may borrow an additional $6,000.00 (if qualified)

  • A Dependent student may borrow an additional $3,500.00 (if qualified)

  • All loans must be repaid

PLUS Loan (Parent Loan for undergraduate Students)

  • A parent may borrow for their child up to the cost of education, minus all other financial aid

  • Parent must agree to a credit check

  • All loans must be repaid

State Assistance

A+ Scholarship

This program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school.

  • Enroll and attend full-time at a participating public community college or vocational/technical school

  • Be seeking a degree or certificate at the school

  • Not be pursuing a degree or certificate in theology or divinity

  • Make a good faith effort to secure all available federal financial aid by completing the FAFSA

  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the school

Access Missouri Grant

This is a need-based program designed to provide students with a simplified financial aid process, provide predictable, portable awards, and increase access to a student's school of choice. Need is determined by the student's Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated through the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident and a Missouri resident

  • Be an undergraduate enrolled full-time at a participating Missouri school

  • Have an EFC of 12,000 or less

  • Not be pursuing a degree or certificate in theology or divinity

  • Not have received your first bachelor's degree, completed the required hours for a bachelor's degree, or completed 150 semester credit hours.

  • Have a FAFSA on file and make any corrections affecting your eligibility by the deadlines indicated below.

    • Priority Deadline  -  February 1st

    • Award Deadline  -  February 1st

    • Final Deadline  -  April 1st

Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant

The Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant is a new financial aid program for adults beginning with the 2019-20 academic year. The grant addresses workforce needs by helping adults pursue a certificate, degree, or industry-recognized credential in an area designated as high need. Grant recipients must maintain Missouri residency and work in Missouri for three years after graduation to prevent the grant from becoming a loan that must be repaid with interest.

      Eligibility

  • Individuals who are 25 years or older or individuals who have not been enrolled in any school within the last two years can participate.

  • The grant will serve students who have not earned a bachelor's degree and are planning to enroll part time or full time.

  • Individuals who make no more than $80,000 filing jointly, or no more than $40,000 per year, filing any other tax status.
