Director's Corner

Mr. Sam Callis

Sam Callis - Director

My name is Sam Callis and I am entering my 26th year in education.  I spent 20 years as a classroom teacher, the last 2 of which were here at Waynesville High School.  Since then I have been in administration.  I served as Assistant Principal at Cuba High School for 2 years before moving over to be Principal.  I left Cuba to become Principal at Richland High School.

My wife, Megan. has been a teacher in Waynesville since 2016 and my son, Weston, attends East Elementary.  I am excited to begin my 2nd year as Director of the Waynesville Career Center.  Career and Tech Education gives so many students an opportunity outside of the Traditional Classroom.  The instructors here at WCC, take tremendous pride in their work.  Each instructor prepares their students with an opportunity to begin a career, enter college or begin military service with a fundamental, hands-on educational experience.  I encourage you to ask any former or current WCC student about their experience at the Career Center.  Our students do a great job of telling our story.

Please feel free to visit our school anytime and email me at scallis@waynesville.k12.mo.us.

Robert Crabtree

Robert Crabtree - Assistant Director

Welcome to Waynesville Career Center.  My name is Robert Crabtree and I am the new Assistant Director for the Waynesville Career Center.  I am beginning my 25th year in education, and my eighth year as an administrator in the Waynesville School District.  I started as a Social Studies teacher in the district in 2000 and eventually became a Technology Integration Specialist before moving to an administrative position. Prior to coming to the Waynesville Career Center, I served as an Assistant Principal at Waynesville Middle School for the past 7 years.

My wife and I are both educators in the Waynesville School District, and together we have 3 children.  We are both very proud of our children and value the opportunities that a good solid education has provided them. Two of my children have graduated from college and my youngest is currently in college pursuing a career in a health related field.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with staff, parents, and students to make this year successful.  I firmly believe that in order for our school and students to be successful, it is extremely important to have parental support.  Through our collective efforts, we can create the optimal environment for our students to succeed.  I’m very excited to be a part of the Waynesville Career Center staff and look forward to seeing all of the wonderful things that occur at the career center to prepare students for their futures.  If I can be of any assistance to you or if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone.
