
Parker Preschool is taking applications for 2025-26
Parker Preschool is taking applications for students for the 2025-26 school year via a Google Form at https://forms.gle/xwNx74ykEuM8utWn8.
Parker Preschool is a free preschool with the Waynesville R-VI School District.
Students must turn age 4 by July 31, 2025, to be eligible for Parker Preschool, which is located inside the Parker Educational Center, next to Waynesville Middle School. In order to be eligible to attend the Parker Preschool program, the child’s birthdate must be between 8/1/2020 and 7/31/2021.
Parker students begin at 8:15 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and dismiss at 3:05 p.m. Doors open at 8:05 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays, Parker begins at 8:45 a.m. and doors open at 8:35 a.m.
Applicants will be chosen through a lottery drawing. The lottery drawing will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9, at Parker Educational Center. Applicant families are welcome to attend the drawing. Parents will be notified by May 16 if their child is accepted into the program.
Students must reside within the boundaries of the Waynesville R-VI School District.

Waynesville High School will host a Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at WHS.
Egg hunts begin at 10:40 a.m. on the throws field at Waynesville High School. as follows:
10:40 a.m. Age 3 and under / pre-kindergarten - kindergarten
11:00 a.m. 1st - 2nd grade
11:20 a.m. 3rd - 5th grade
The throws field is located on the east side of the WHS campus, near Tiger Stadium and the tennis courts.

There will be no school in the Waynesville R-VI School District March 17-21, 2025, for Spring Break.


Avery Francisco, a 4th grader at East Elementary, has won 2nd place in the elementary instrumental category of the Creating Original Music Project at the University of Missouri.
“Avery has composed a piece of music for piano 4 hands (two people share the keyboard at once),” said East Music Teacher Hannah Macarthy. “We are so incredibly proud here at East Elementary.”
Francisco will be awarded $500 for earning 2nd place in COMP 2025 with her original musical composition, “The Dinosaur Forces Combined.”
She and her parents have been invited to attend the Creating Original Music Project Festival on April 19, 2025, at the Sinquefield Music Center in the University of Missouri. She will have the opportunity to participate in a group class, rehearsal, concert and awards ceremony. #wayschools

East students, grades K-5, had a great conversation about the Helping Path during Day 0. Thank you to our guest speaker Mrs. Diana Alvarado, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The students enjoyed exploring the Helping Path and learning about the different ways social workers help to support businesses, schools, hospitals, police stations, advocacy centers, and court rooms. They also appreciated discussing coping skills and therapy.
During Day 0 East highlights 1 of the 6 Career Paths - students have had the pleasure to hear from 5 Career Paths and we all look forward to the last one in April.








Coin Wars start at East today and will run through Friday, February 28th. East is raising money for the local animal shelter. Students can bring in coins to compete with other levels. Grade levels may win:
1st- Pie in a Principal's Face
2nd- Popcorn/Movie day
3rd- Pajama Day.
