Back-To-School
Welcome Back To The Waynesville R-VI School District
From preschool programs for children with special needs and developmental concerns to dual credit and AP college courses at the high school. Waynesville Schools offer a variety of programs to meet the academic needs of students at all levels. As a result, our students routinely perform above average on state tests.
Waynesville teachers embrace the Professional Learning Community model and classes begin 30 minutes late each Wednesday to allow teachers to collaborate on best practices. (Buses also run 30 minutes later on Wednesday mornings; dismissal times do not change.)
Beyond rigorous academics, students learn to apply school-wide positive behavior support strategies, model character words and embrace good habits for successful daily living. Understanding the value of individual responsibility is emphasized, along with service to others.
Parents also are asked to maintain high expectations for their children, and none is more important than attendance. Every healthy child should be at school every day.
The district operates three elementary schools - Partridge, Thayer and Wood - on Fort Leonard Wood and two - East and Freedom - off post. Williams Early Childhood Center on post offers programs for qualifying preschool students and Parker Preschool offers preschool to students who are selected through a lottery system. The school district also operates the Waynesville Sixth Grade Center (grade 6), Waynesville Middle School (grades 7-8), Waynesville High School (grades 9-12) and Waynesville Career Center (grades 9-adult) off post.
