Afterschool Programs

The Waynesville R-VI School District offers Afterschool Programs for elementary students at East Elementary and Freedom Elementary, sixth grade and middle school students at the Waynesville Middle School (WMDS), and high school students at the Waynesville High School (WHS).

Club TIGER lets students explore and develop their talents, while gaining critical thinking skills for learning through the delivery of high quality, hands-on, project-based programs in a variety of content areas. Key content areas include arts, science, sports, technology and communications. Academic support is a clear benefit of the Club TIGER program, providing students with the opportunity to complete homework and make-up missing assignments.

Academic support is administered by educators and tutors who are available to provide clarifications on assignments and lessons, providing a positive and productive atmosphere.

The What I Need (WIN) afterschool program will run Monday-Thursday from 2:45-5:00. The program is open to all students in grades 6-12 and there are no registration fees. Students must register by Wednesday the week before the week they want to attend WIN. The program will include academic assistance time and privilege time that will run from 2:45-3:45 and club time that will run from 4:00-5:00. Students who stay after for WIN time can ride the activity bus home. The activity bus departs from WHS at 5:30. "Super Snacks" will be provided to students.
