Title 1 Parent Compact
East Elementary School-Parent Compact
The East Elementary School and the parent of the student participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (participating children), agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.
This school-parent compact is in effect during the 2022-2023 school year.
School Responsibilities:
The East Elementary School will:
∙ Provide rigorous curriculum and instruction.
∙ Motivate students through high expectations and help every child to develop a love of learning.
∙ Communicate regularly with families about student progress through conferences, parent-teacher meetings, progress reports and other available means.
∙ Provide opportunities for parents to volunteer and participate in their child’s’ class.
∙ Participate in professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning and support the formation of partnerships with families and the community.
∙ Participate in collaborative decision-making and work with families and colleagues to make school accessible and a welcoming place for families.
∙ Provide interventions for struggling learners during the school day as well as enrichment opportunities for students that are excelling.
∙ Include various cultural diversities within the school community.
Family/Parents Responsibilities:
We, as parents, will support our children’s learning in the followings ways:
∙ Provide a quiet time and place for homework and monitor screen time.
∙ Read to my child or encourage my child to read everyday for at least 20 minutes.
∙ Communicate with the teacher or the school when I have a concern.
∙ Ensure that my child attends school every day, gets adequate sleep, regular medical attention and proper nutrition.
∙ Regularly monitor my child’s progress in school using eSchool.
∙ Participate at school in activities such as school decision making, volunteering and/or attending parent-teacher conferences.
∙ Communicate the importance of education and learning to my child.
∙ Respect the school, staff, students, and families.
Student Responsibilities:
We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement and achieve the State’s high standards. Specifically, we will:
∙ Come to school ready to learn and work hard.
∙ Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Learner.
∙ Ask for help when I need it.
∙ Limit my technology and TV and read at home.
