Welcome to Ms. Bates's web page!  I am a resource teacher at Wood Elementary.  My goal is to help every student learn. I may see your child for reading group, math group, written language or social group. We believe that learning should be relevant and fun!

Social skills are a very important component in our classroom. The students work on appropriate peer interaction, manners, and various life situations.

Your child is very special to myself and the paraprofessionals that work in our classroom.  Each child's education is individualized and meets them where they are to work forward. We use a variety of motivational strategies in our classroom. Some of the strategies include visual scheduling, reward systems, and social stories. Every child has an opportunity to work for a specific reward each day.
