More Information about PBS

Positive Behavior Support is more of a mind set, rather than a behavior program.  Teachers and staff will be calling attention to the positive aspects of behavior, giving attention to those students displaying the correct behaviors. When students are not meeting expectations, they are not allowing teachers to teach and students to learn.

As we go through the implementation of PBS, we will be teaching our expectations to students, modeling our expectations, reteaching and reviewing what we need students to do in all the different areas of the school. (See Behavior Matrix)  As classes or individuals are displaying correct behavior, they will be recognized for their efforts as they earn class and individual rewards.

Specific Locations in the Matrix:

Playground

Cafeteria

Restrooms

Hallways

Computer Lab

Special Activities (Assemblies & Field Trips)

Bus

Morning Room

We also have an expectation for ALL settings which we call KHFOOTY. This stands for "Keep Hands, Feet, and Other Objects To Yourself".

Additional information and topics are contained in the list on the right.
