Welcome to Pick Elementary Library!

Hello and welcome to the Pick Elementary Library. We're having a lot of fun with Reading Counts. Reading Counts is a wonderful program that allows students to test over a book they've just read. Here at Pick, students can earn points from the number of words they've read. Our starting number is 250 words and our last number is 1,000,000. Whenever a student has read at least 250 words they can get their name up in the hall with a frog on it. Then it becomes a frog race! We have the halls sort of divided up into sections. The first one is the Tadpole Hall, followed by the Green Frog Hall and then the Bullfrog Hall as the numbers get higher. The next section is our Prestigious Frog Hall and last is the Frog Hall of Fame.  Twice a week we have a drawing from the names of students who have passed a test with at least 9 out of 10 questions correct.  Prizes are available for the winner to select from. The library is open before school from 7:30a.m. to 8:00a.m. for students who would like to sit and read, select a new book or test over a book they've read.  Parents are welcome too.
