*ALL STUDENTS WILL READ FOR  15 MINUTES EACH night.  They should be practicing math facts for 10-15 each night as well.

 

 

 

In our 1st grade classroom, we will use a combination of guided reading with our basil reading textbooks.  Each week, we will have a reading story that will come home on Monday in their reading book.  They should read the story to you during the week.  We will cover it at school as well.  We will test on the story on Friday.  On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we will use guided reading books.  These are on your child's specific reading level.  They are tested on the material to make sure they have both fluency and  comprehension.
