Welcome to Mrs. Jacobson's first grade class.  This is my third year teaching at Partridge Elementary.  I have taught first grade for 18 years and have a Master's Degree in Education.

My husband, Doug and I live in Crocker. He is also involved in education as an administrator in Crocker.  We have two grown daughters.  They live in Nashville, Tennessee.

This is an exciting year for your child as he/she transitions from Kindergarten to first grade.  The academic growth they will experience is an amazing journey.  As partners, we can work together to provide a positive and successful learning experience.

Daily Class Schedule:

8:30-9:00 Calendar Time

9:00-9:50 Specials

9:50-11:23 Reading Workshop

11:23-11:48 Lunch

11:48-12:05 Restroom Break

12:05-1:05 Team Time

1:05-2:05 Math 

2:05-2:30 Writing Workshop

2:30-2:45 Clean-Up

2:45-3:15 Recess

3:25 Dismissal

Supply List:

two spiral notebooks, index cards, crayons, markers, art box, pencils, glue, Germ X, scissors, a box of Kleenex, four pocket folders, a huge smile!

Class Rules:

1.  Listen the first time you are told.

2.  Turn all assignments in on time.

3.  Raise your hand before you speak.

4.  Keep hands to yourself.

Weekly Homework:

I usually assign weekly homework on Monday. It is due on Thursday.  Homework usually consists of spelling words, review Student Math Handbook pages and stories from our district reading series.  I will send a weekly newsletter home on Monday along with assignments.  Thank you in advance for helping with your child's homework.
