Purpose for the 8th grade READ 180 Program:

The focus of 8th grade READ 180 will be to improve basic skills such as comprehension, vocabulary development, listening skills, reading level, learn and master various reading strategies and skills, and to prepare the students for MAP testing. 

Read 180 is implemented in a structured environment.  Students rotate among three different groups to include: Small-group, Software Time, and Independent Reading.  

It is important that students assume responsibility for all work that is assigned. If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to find out what was missed. Students have two days for everyday absent to make up their work.

Please be assured that I am here to help your child succeed. Communicate with me any questions or concerns you may have. Do not be afraid to talk with me or to ask for help. I will have opportunities for extra credit, also, should students be caught up in class. I am available Monday through Friday until at least 3:00 p.m. unless otherwise mentioned. I can stay later if it is arranged with me ahead of time.
