I am Ms. Kathcart. As a student, my favorite subject was always  math. I became a math teacher because I enjoy the beauty, the patterns, and the challenge of mathematics. As a teacher, I have a desire to help students make sense of those challenges and to see that math does have a connection with everyday life. With a Masters in Education, I have two teaching certifications. I am certified to teach K-8 self-contained classrooms and 7-12 secondary mathematics. I have been teaching math for 17 years. I have taught 8th grade math at WMDS for the last 12 years. Even though I have experience teaching many grade levels, I prefer working with middle grade level students.
