7TH GRADE GENERAL MUSIC DESCRIPTION
 
    The 7th grade general music class is a quarter-long music appreciation class open to the entire 7th grade population.  Student will discover, or reinforce, the fact that music is in all aspects of their life; learn or review note names and kinds of notes; and learn fingering charts to play instruments.

7TH GRADE CHOIR CLASS DESCRIPTION

    The 7th grade beginning/intermediate choir is a performance class for students who want to be in a performance group.  The group will continue to work on skills experienced in 6th grade choir.  Skills emphasized will include:  performance techniques and behavior, breathing technique, and correct sound production.  7th Honor Choir will sing in 2 and 3 part music, SA, TB, and SAB music.  The 7th grade honor choir will perform 4 times a year.

8TH GRADE GENERAL MUSIC DESCRIPTION

8TH GRADE ADVANCED CHOIR CLASS DESCRIPTION

The 8th grade advanced choir is an auditioned performance choir for students who want to be in a competitive performance group. The group will continue to work on skills experience in the 7th grade choir. Members will sing freshmen level music and compete several times a year against other middle and high schools. 8th grade advanced choir will sing 3 and 4 part music, SSA, TTB, SAB, and SATB music.
