Individual Student Planning:

Relevant information is given about course selection, existing programs, and career education. This service helps students achieve academic success through the development of short-term and long-range educational and career plans.

 

Classroom presentations and large group activities:

Classroom presentations help students learn coping, career-planning, decision-making, and future-planning skills.

 

Management activities:

Counselors will be involved in programs that help support the guidance department and other school programs.

 

Individual and small group counseling, consultation, and referral:

Individual and small group counseling, consultation, and referral. These services help students with personal goals, concerns, and educational process.

Agency Counseling Directory for parents interested in finding outside counseling services for their son or daughter.


Testing Responsibilities:

Counselors will be responsible for coordinating the administration of group testing as well as interpreting scores and making educational recommendations to the students, parents, and teachers. The following are the list of tests given each year:

Grade 9 - EXPLORE Test
Grade 10 - PLAN Test
Grade 11 - Pre-SAT Test
Grade 12 - ASVAB - a military entrance exam
Grades 11 and 12 - ACT Test - a college entrance exam

End of Course Exams - Algebra I, Biology, English 10
