A+ School

Waynesville High School is an A+ designated high school in the state of Missouri. As a result of this official designation, graduating seniors who have met all eligibility requirements will qualify for the A+ Schools Financial Incentive.

Goals of the A+ School Program

  • All students will graduate from high school.
  • All students will complete a selection of high school studies that is challenging and has identified learning
    expectations.
  • All students will proceed from high school graduation to a four year college or community college or post- secondary vocational or technical school, or high wage job with work place skill development opportunities.

Benefits of an A+ School for Students

  • Tuition and general fees to a community college or public vocational/technical school of their choice in Missouri.
  • Incentives which will be made available after the student has made a good faith effort to first secure all available federal post-secondary student financial assistance funds that do not require repayment.
  • Students will receive this incentive for six semesters. A student must be considered a full-time student by the institution. Students must complete the six semesters of full-time enrollment at a community college or a public vocational/technical school within four years after graduation from High School.

Student Eligibility

  • Sign an A+ Student Participation Agreement.
  • Attend Waynesville High School or another A+ school for the three years prior to graduation. An exception
    is made for military dependents.
  • Maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average.
  • Maintain at least a 95% attendance record.
  • Perform 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring for younger students.
  • Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoidance of the unlawful use of drugs.
  • Register for the selective service (if applicable).
  • Make a good faith effort to first secure all available federal post-secondary student financial assistance.
