Congratulations! Your child has officially started the path to fourth grade! On this new path, your child will have more responsibility for their education, their actions, and most of all, how they deal with classmates.
I know that you and your child are truly excited about fourth grade! I am too! I am anxious for the students to arrive so that we can explore reading old and new favorite books, poetry, becoming authors, and engaging in various mathematical concepts! We have a new math series this year which looks to be exciting!
To get ready for fourth grade, be sure that your child has memorized their multiplication facts. Don’t forget to practice the addition and subtraction facts as well!
I hope that your child has been reading this summer, as I can’t wait to hear of new books that I will need to read! Research shows that the more a child reads the more successful he/she will be in school. To help encourage reading, set time aside each day to read. After reading, I encourage you to discuss the reading with your child. This strengthens your child's academic future.
I'm looking forward to a new year with you and your child!
