About East's Technology Program

At East Elementary, our technology goal is to help students to use technology effectively as a tool for learning.  We currently have a full-time instructional technology specialist who helps the teachers to integrate technology into the classroom curriculum. 

We are fortunate to have three stationary and four mobile computer labs available for teachers to use with their students.  Almost half of our classrooms and all of our labs have SmartBoards installed for teachers to use daily as they teach.  We also have a portable SmartBoard and a few mobile projectors for those classrooms that do not have SmartBoards permanently installed.  New this year to our school are our document cameras, which allow teachers to use books, papers, math manipulatives, and other three-dimensional materials interactively with the SmartBoards.  We also have several iPads available for student use in the classrooms.  Be sure to ask your child to share what he or she has been doing with our wonderful technology tools at school!
