Welcome to our class page!
Hello, my name is Maxine Thompson, Reading Specialist at East Elementary School. I provide Reading Resource services to kindergarten through second grade students at our school. I work with children who are struggling in reading. My goal is to create a comfortable, fun learning environment that provides children with the extra support to gain confidence in reading while strengthening their skills. I work closely with each child's classroom teacher to create a plan for improving reading skills as well as discuss reading concerns and progress. I provide thirty minute, small group sessions each day with students. We will work together to improve reading skills such as decoding, fluency, and comprehension. I look forward to a productive school year!
