     My name is Mrs. Wilson.  Welcome to second grade!  I look forward to educating your child this year, and I take this responsibility seriously.
    This year your child will build upon their reading and math skills learned in first grade.  It is important your child is reading at school and at home.  We will also develop previously learned writing skills.  The students will keep a writing portfolio they may take home at the end of the school year.  It is important your child has a strong foundation in reading and writing for future learning.  To help prepare your child, encourage them to read at home and memorize their multiplication facts.
     Please utilize our class web page to access our classroom information.  Our weekly newsletters will be posted, which provide valuable information on your child's weekly spelling list, learning activities, and school events.  You can also find a copy of our classroom behavior plan and weekly procedures.
    The goal of each child who enters my classroom is to enjoy learning and to strive to reach their fullest potential.   I will provide a classroom environment where each child feels accepted, special, and valuable.  I look forward to working with you to ensure your child has a rewarding and successful year.
