WCC Welding Class Learns PlasmaCAM Software and Machine
Recently, Mr. Neuman’s welding class at WCC learned the software for the PlasmaCAM. The PlasmaCAM software allows students to create different designs that they want to cut, eliminating any need for machine programs, layout drawings, or metal patterns. The software controls and tracks the machine in real time, providing a visual link between the designs on-screen and the shapes being cut. Below is a picture of students learning the software for the first time.
Once the students have created their design, they must take their design to the PlasmaCAM cutting system.
Pictured below, is Mr. Neuman and a student looking over the design before it is sent to the cutting machine.
Once the design looks accurate, the cutting machine is started. Pictured below is a project being cut by the PlasmaCAM.
Once cut by the PlasmaCAM, the welding students align and spot weld and weld different designs together.
