Course Title: Welding and Manufacturing I Technology

Statement of Purpose:

 

The course is divided into 2 semesters. The course is designed to provide students with classroom and laboratory experience in current and emerging welding technology.

 

Instructional Methods:

 

Class will consist of lecture/discussion, assigned reading of material, demonstration, guided practice, and applied lab assignments. This will require the student to use the skills he/she has learned in the course material.

 

Required Resources:

 

Prerequisites:

None

Textbook:

Modern Welding, A.W.S. Entry Level I ,Lincoln Training Module

Materials needed:

Pen, paper, journal (composition book)

Soft 3-ring binder (provided by instructor)

Academic Assistance or Open Lab Hours:

Tuesday and Thursday – 6:30 – 7:15 am

Class Hours:

Five days a week @ 2 ½ hours

 

Evaluation:

 

Students will be evaluated on written tests, lab assignments, welding notebook and. Students will also be evaluated on daily participation in the class. Daily participation is a necessity for successful completion of the course. Students’ notebooks should be neat and orderly. Students’ final grade is calculated on a total point basis.

 

A - 90 – 100%

B - 80 – 89%

C - 70 – 79%

D - 60 – 69%

F - 0 – 59%
