Hospitality and Tourism
Welcome to Hospitality & Tourism!!
Hospitality is defined as "service done for others". There are four segments for students to explore. Students will be exposed to the four components of the hospitality industry. The four components are Lodging Management, Food & Beverage, Travel & Tourism, and Recreation & Entertainment. Students learn about career opportunities in the industry, personal characteristics needed for individual jobs, and the history of hospitality.
The international symbol for hospitality is the Pineapple. With this in mind, students also are in charge of the daily running of the school store, Pineapple Pete's Snack Shack. This helps students to get hands on experience in customer service and other job related skills.
Students who complete the two year program are eligible to interview with Walt Disney World before they graduate. The Disney CareerStart Program recruiters come to our class to interview potential cast members.
