PARAMEDIC PROGRAM (EMT-P)
We begin accepting applications for the Paramedic Program at the beginning of April each year.
The goal for the Waynesville EMT and Paramedic Programs is to provide the student with the knowledge and patient care skills to care for the patient in an emergency situation. Paramedic is an 18 month program that begins in August each year, which includes classroom instruction, clinical experience and internship. You are required to have all clinical hours completed within 18 months of beginning the Paramedic Program.
Learning Objectives:
- Study and perform the basic skills in the EMT course.
- Acquire the knowledge and skills needed to provide the highest quality of Emergency Medical care
- Proceed through the course material and skills training in the classroom setting
- Begin clinical training in the hospital and pre-hospital settings
- Make application to the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians/Paramedics after successfully completing the 1-year program.
