A lifelong resident of the Waynesville area, Mike earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Engineering Management from University of Missouri Rolla (now Missouri S & T).

He is married to Patty, a retired kindergarten teacher. They have three children: Kasie, Cody, and Allison. They are also the proud grandparents of a granddaughter, Brooklynn.

Mike retired in 2007 after over 30 years of service as the Chief of Operations for the Directorate of Public Works at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

He is in his 12th year on the Board of Education and serves on several committees such as scholarship, counseling advisory, facilities, alternative school, and TABS.

He has been a volunteer youth sports coach in the community for over 20 years and has coached many sports, but primarily basketball and soccer. 

Mike's philosophy is that "kids should always come first because they are our future."
