Herman Blau has been a resident of the Waynesville / St Robert / Ft Leonard Wood area since 1997 when he began teaching Spanish at Waynesville High School. After five years of teaching, Herman spent five years as an assistant principal at East Elementary. He holds a B.S. in Education Summa Cum Laude in the Honor's College from Missouri State University and holds a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Missouri State University.
 
Herman and his wife Melissa were married in 1993 and have six children. Laney (class of 2013), Savannah (class of 2015), Spencer (class of 2017), Katie (class of 2020), Hyrum (class of 2022) and Joseph (class of 2024). They are in the process of adopting a child from China and should complete the adoption sometime in the summer of 2011.
 
Herman and his family attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and he currently serves as bishop of the church.
 
Herman and Melissa are owners of several small businesses located in the Waynesville / St Robert / Ft Leonard Wood area.
 
Herman has served on the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education since 2009.
