What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a national network of hundreds of programs throughout the US committed to using national service to address critical community needs in education, public safety, health and the environment. AmeriCorps is often referred to as “the domestic Peace Corps.”
What do AmeriCorps members do?
Waynesville AmeriCorps members commit to serve full-time for one year (12 months) at the Waynesville R-VI School District, working alongside teachers to provide reading and mathematics tutoring to students in elementary and middle school who are struggling academically. They also facilitate the Club TIGER after-school program, directing club activities and providing homework assistance to students.
What are the requirements for AmeriCorps service?
To qualify for Waynesville AmeriCorps service, you must be at least 17 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and enjoy working with children.
What are the benefits of AmeriCorps service?
Benefits of Waynesville AmeriCorps service include $14,875 annual living allowance, $2,775 end-of-service education award, partial health care benefits, childcare assistance, and student loan forbearance.

4. Using the login that was emailed to you, create your eight-step application (employment history, skills & experience, community service, education, motivational statement, criminal history, optional information, and references)
