Day of Service
2012
Friday, January 13, 2012 Waynesville School District will be celebrating MLK Day of Service by enabling our students and teachers to perform service projects for the community both on and off campus. Teachers who are interested in conducting a project with their classroom should contact AmeriCorps VISTA for more information and assistance.
Last year over 100 middle school students volunteered in the community, with hundreds more conducting projects within their classrooms. This year not only will students have the opportunity to serve in the community, but at the middle school level, students will also be conducting mini-service projects in the gym throughout the day.
For more information regarding MLK Day of Service 2012, please contact the VISTA office at 573-433-2043.
